Access, Belonging and Community Committee
The function of this committee is to advise the dean and college leadership on the creation and implementation of policies, practices and initiatives that integrate accessibility, belonging and community into all aspects of the college’s culture and environment. The committee will also set goals for the hiring of staff members and review the procedures used in conducting academic searches for compliance with affirmative action policies and procedures. Additional areas to address may include the recruitment of underrepresented students, equitable and inclusive hiring practices and policies, faculty and staff mentoring and development, long-term hiring and enrollment goals and fostering an inclusive climate within the college for students, staff and faculty.
The committee will be composed of nine (9) members appointed by the dean in consultation with the departments and units: three (3) faculty (one from each college department), two (2) students (1 undergraduate appointment and 1 graduate, appointed by the associate dean for undergraduate affairs), three (3) academic professionals (including at least 1 from Disability Resources and Educational Services and 1 from the Chez Veterans Center), and one (1) classified staff member. The dean shall appoint one (1) member as chair.

Student Advisory Committee
The Student Advisory Committee consists of six (6) members, two (2) from each academic unit, and have been nominated by the heads of their respective units. The committee operates in an advisory capacity to the Accessibility, Belonging and Community committee.
The committee’s main tasks include helping develop the ABC web presence for our college, working alongside the ABC committee. They will self-organize and meet several times each semester.
