Lynne C. Barnes, MA, OT, FACHE, FAOTA
Lynne C. Barnes is the President of Carle Foundation Hospital. She has been with Carle since 1977. During the past 20 years in executive leadership Lynne has had oversight of a variety of departments and Carle owned businesses. Lynne partners with physician leaders to oversee the physicians who work in the hospital; including emergency physicians, adult hospitalists, pediatric hospitalists, adults and pediatric critical care physicians, OB hospitalists and neonatologists.
Lynne graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 1976. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a master’s degree in Public Administration in 1988. Lynne’s current community leadership efforts include Stephen’s Family YMCA Board Member and current Chairperson, and the Champaign-Urbana Christian Church Local Leadership Team. Lynne’s past community leadership roles have included the American College of Healthcare Executives Regent, Chapter President, Fellow, and Diplomat; Promise Health Care Board Member and Chairperson; United Way of Champaign County Board Member, Campaign Co-Chair, and Board Chair; Champaign County Economic Development Corporation Vice Chairperson and Chairperson; Urbana City Council Member, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities Surveyor; and City of Urbana Comprehensive Steering Committee. Lynne is also an Athena Award recipient and a member of Leadership Illinois.
