Integrated Learning Experience (ILE)
The ILE is a culminating project in the field of health administration tailored to the student’s interest. This project allows students to apply classroom learning to a pressing healthcare issue in a real-world setting. A wide variety of opportunities are possible, including projects related to data analytics, financial or strategic planning, operations management, or quality of care issues.
Examples of recent MSHA ILE projects include:
- Developing a surgical procedure checklist and implementing communication plan and training to physicians
- Implementing a toolkit to help physicians talk with patients about the importance of flu vaccines to boost annual seasonal flu immunization rates
