Ken Chin

Ken Chin, CMPE, is a Board Certified Medical Practice Executive through the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), nationally recognized as their 2021 Legislative Liaison of the Year, and serves on the Advisory Board for the University of Illinois’ Master of Health Administration (MHA) degree program.

Mr. Chin has spent the past 13+ years of his career creating meaningful success in the field of healthcare administration.  He is the Chief Operating Officer of Portland Mental Health & Wellness in Oregon. Previously, he was the Director of Operations at a behavioral health group in Chicago and Practice Administrator at UroPartners, the largest, independent urology group in the Midwest. Mr. Chin is passionate about building successful organizations through the fostering of referral relationships, identifying operational gaps to implement more efficient workflows, effectively developing a positive team culture, and, most importantly, ensuring superb patient/client care.

Mr. Chin was the Legislative Liaison and Committee Chair for the Illinois MGMA, advocating for positive change in healthcare legislation at both the state and national levels. In this role, he reliably monitored and shared important legislative updates with healthcare professionals across the state in partnership with the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) and the National MGMA Government Affairs team.

As a professionally trained classical musician, Mr. Chin played the clarinet and performed at Carnegie Hall six times as a child. He is also a retired four-time IRONMAN triathlete and marathon runner with personal bests of 13:00 and 3:59, respectively.
