Children
Children needed for paid study about hearing in noisy environments
We are recruiting children for a paid research study focused on how to improve children’s speech understanding in noisy environments. We’re looking for children 5-17 years old who speak English as their first language. The study lasts approximately one hour. Children are paid $15 per hour. Parking is free. Can you help us learn how nutrition supports school performance?
Your child (8-10 years old) will participate in seven 2.5-hour visits and take a daily gummy over nine months. Activities include height, weight and eye health measurements, reading and math related questions, computer tasks and parent questionnaires. Maternal Mindfulness to Prevent Depression and Reduce Postpartum Pain
Are you a Latina woman who had a planned cesarean delivery in the past 12 months? We are looking for women (aged 18-45) to help us develop a mindfulness intervention for Latina women who plan to deliver by cesarean. Stress, Emotions, and Pain in the Postpartum Period Interview (SEPPPI)
Did you give birth in the past 12 months? Have you currently or previously experienced stress, sadness, low mood, other sad emotions, and pain since childbirth? Seeking pregnant women for fetal hearing study
Seeking female participants between 20 and 32 weeks pregnant for research to better understand what fetuses hear on a daily basis. Participants will wear a small audio device that measures sound exposure for their baby. Participants will be paid for each measurement session they complete. Adults
We are conducting a research study to understand the perceptions and factors that influence resistance training across the lifespan among Latina women. You must be 18 or older to participate. Individuals will engage in a one-time interview on Zoom where you will answer questions related to your perceptions of resistance training. Seeking adults for hearing study
We are inviting adults (18 years or older) to participate in a study about how we understand speech when it is degraded, such as at a noisy restaurant. Seeking Participants for a Qualitative Study
Are you a health care professional? Do you work with African American women with gestational diabetes and depressive symptoms? If so, participate in our study to help researchers identify recommendations on components needed in a mindful eating intervention to improve diabetes self-care behaviors, adherence to gestational diabetes management and improvement of depressive symptoms among pregnant African American women. Non-recreationally active participants (19-59 y/o) for nutrition research
The Nutrition and Exercise Performance Research Group is looking for participants to partake in a 2-day study to establish the utility of the indicator amino acid oxidation method in adults. Participation in this study involves 2-day habituation lead in with all meals provided, muscle biopsies and blood, breath and urine sampling during two all-day trials. Study on nutrition training for parents/caregivers of young children
This study seeks to gather input on components of a nutrition training program from parents and family caregivers of children ages six months to 14 years. Study on movement and brain health!
The PLAY Lab is looking for participants 30 and above to participate in our study. Participation involves attending two 2-hour laboratory sessions, spread across a minimum of seven days and completing some motor tasks and cognitive tasks some while various brain responses are recorded. Seeking Adults With No Known Hearing Loss
We are looking for individuals with no known hearing loss to participate in research exploring how information received by the left and right ear is combined by the brain. Seeking adults with significant difficulty hearing in noise
Healthy adults ages 18-40 with no hearing loss but significant difficulty hearing in noise are invited for a study on listening in noise. There is an online survey to determine eligibility, followed by lab visits for those who qualify. Lab visits include hearing screening, listening to sounds, and measuring ear and brain activity. There is a maximum of three lab visits, each lasting 2-3 hours. Compensation for lab visits is paid in cash ($15/hour). Parking is covered, and mileage is reimbursed ($0.655/mile, up to a maximum of 37.5 miles/visit). To participate, complete our survey.
Seeking Adults for Hearing Experiment
Looking for adults (ages 25-40) who are native speakers of American English and have normal hearing. Participants will listen and respond to speech samples and receive a hearing test during a single 60- to 90-minute visit. Compensation of $15 per hour will be provided at completion. Older Adults
Innovative Showerhead Design for Older Adults with Mobility Impairment
Researchers are conducting a two-hour online interview study via Zoom to better understand showering needs of older adults aging with long-term mobility impairment and seeking feedback on an innovative showerhead design. We are recruiting older adult wheelchair users (ages 60 or above) with lower body mobility impairment for at least 10 years or caregivers (professional/family). Compensation: $30 gift card. Particiants needed for a Medicare study
Participants needed for a study to understand how people navigate Medicare. To be eligible, must be ages 65 and older and be able to meet in person for an interview. Virtual Reality to Support Engagement Opportunities – Usability Study
Researchers from the Human Factors and Aging Lab at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign are recruiting older adults (65 years or older) to examine usability and acceptance of virtual reality applications and their efficacy with older adults. The ACN Lab is looking for adults ages 40–70 with mild to moderate hearing loss to participate in a research study. If you’re unsure whether you have hearing loss, you can still join — we will do the testing for you. The study involves a two-hour behavioral session and a four-hour brain wave recording.
