Student Advising Services

MPH students receive support and mentorship from a multi-faceted student advising system.

Academic Advising

Code Course
Students meet with the Assistant Director at least once per semester (and as often as desired) for assistance with course registration, assistance with APE and ILE, and general assistance with the program.

Faculty Advising

Code Course
Course Students are assigned a faculty mentor based on their identified interests. Faculty advisors guide students in building connections with other faculty and professionals in the field, assist APE or ILE placement, and career planning support.

Career Advising

Code Course
As part of the curriculum, students take a year-long seminar course designed to assist in the development of resumes and cover letters, internship and job placement, interview and negotiation skills. There are also University-wise career support.

Practice Mentorship

Code Course
At APE sites, students will work in an organization gaining hands-on public health experience. Each student will have a Preceptor from the organization who helps the student develop as a professional as well as practical public health skills.
