Shaniel Taylor

Shaneil Taylor, PhD

Shaneil Taylor is a global/public health researcher and practitioner with over a decade of conducting Behavior Change Interventions across North and South America. Currently, Dr. Taylor works as a Research Analyst at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign conducting epidemiological studies on substance use and comorbidity in the U.S. He focuses on addressing health disparities among minority populations and creating meaningful evidence-based interventions that can be implemented successfully in disadvantaged communities. In addition, Dr. Taylor conducts advanced statistical procedures and data manipulation for several Big Data research projects.

Dr. Taylor earned his doctorate in Health Behavior, with specialization in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Indiana University-Bloomington. His research areas of interest include concurrent polydrug use behaviors among opioid using Emerging Adults across the United States, in order to understand the factors that influence their perception and behaviors. He completed a Masters in Communication and Development Studies from Ohio University, with a focus on Community Health Promotion.
